Career Opportunities

School contract Speech-Language Pathologist, SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant), Occupational Therapist, and COTA (Occupational Therapy Assistant) positions for the 2023-2024 school year in Rutherford, Cleveland, Burke, Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Polk, and Bladen counties in NC are available. Clinical Fellowship SLPs are accepted.

Private practice positions for contract Speech-Language Pathologists, SLPAs, Occupational Therapists, COTAs, CBRS Therapists (Community Based Rehabilitation Services), Physical Therapists, and PTAs (Physical Therapy Assistants) are available ASAP for therapy in the Shelby, NC clinic and in homes, daycares, and other community settings in Rutherford, Cleveland, Polk, Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba, Burke, and Bladen counties in NC. Clinical Fellowship SLPs are accepted.

Position Details

Positions are part- or full-time and services may be delivered on-site or via telepractice depending on the circumstance with COVID-19 for Speech-Language Pathologists and SLPAs only. Telepractice is no longer allowed for Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, or CBRS in NC. Services for Occupational therapists, Physical Therapists, and CBRS will be on-site (clinic, schools, home, daycare, or other community setting).

CBRS providers should have a bachelor's degree in early childhood (birth-Kindergarten) or education.

COTAs, PTAs, and SLPAs should have an associate's degree in these disciplines from an accredited school and have a NC license to practice in their discipline. SLPAs can also have a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited university and have taken the steps required by ASHA and/or the NC Board of Examiners for SLPs and Audiologists to obtain a NC SLP-A license.

Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists must have a relevant master's or doctoral degree from an accredited college/ university and be licensed and certified in both the state of NC and nationally (i.e., ASHA, NCBOT, APTA, etc.), or be in the process of receiving these certifications and licensures. 

Travel is required for the majority of positions hired by Wood SLP Services, Inc. One year of experience with pediatrics is preferred for all positions, but is not a requirement. Responsibilities include performing screenings, evaluations, and treatments per IFSP and IEP mandates and in line with the ASHA, PT, or OT codes of ethics. Additional duties may include consultation, case management, and attending and/or leading IFSP/IEP meetings.
