  • Physical injury (i.e., broken bones, tendon or ligament injuries, sprained joints, post-surgical interventions related to cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation, etc.)

Evaluations

The initial evaluation process is based on each child's developmental history and parent concerns. Our physical therapists will complete a formal standardized test that will provide a baseline of the child's physical abilities and give insight into their strengths and challenges. We will discuss the findings and work together to set goals that are both appropriate and achievable.

If a child has had a PT evaluation from another company within the last 3 months of contacting Wood SLP Services, Inc. we will use those evaluation results to guide our therapy plan and goals.

Home, Daycare, and Community Setting

We work on developing strength, coordination, and motor skills in the child's daily life activities, allowing them to learn and grow in their most natural settings. Our home, daycare, and community therapy services are both convenient and effective for children, teens, and young adults with physical challenges.

During physical therapy sessions, parents are invited to be as hands-on as they would like to be. Our physical therapists teach parents how to support their child at home, leading to quicker progress. In daycares, teachers are also given education on how to support physical therapy goals in the classroom. Our goal is to help each child succeed in all of their most important environments!
